Before you begin your freelance assignment with Fusion People, details of the contract along with a starter pack will be sent to you confirming the assignment, the rate of pay and the relevant contact at the client.
You should familiarise yourself with the terms of the contract and all accompanying details, returning any documents required prior to start of your assignment.
For your convenience, here is a copy of our PAYE Candidate Terms >>
In order to ensure you receive accurate and prompt payment, please make yourself familiar with our procedures.
Payment is made only on receipt of the top two copies of the timesheet, duly dated and signed by a representative of the client. To avoid delays in receiving pay, please ensure you complete your timesheet correctly and attach any additional paperwork to the timesheet.
Expenses will only be payable where written approval has been obtained from the client and a signed expense claim form has been received along with ALL supporting receipts.
View a guide to completing your timesheet.
Payroll is run every morning of the working week except Fridays and Public Holidays.
A BACS form with your bank account details should be completed and sent in to our Accounts Department with your first timesheet.
Your remittance is computed automatically and will be forwarded to you each week. Your monies will be paid directly into your bank account via BACS (Bankers Automated Clearing Services), a fast efficient system, dispensing with the need for cheques. You can expect payment two working days after your timesheet has been processed; meaning a correctly completed timesheet received by mail on a Monday morning will be processed that same day and the money cleared into your account by Wednesday.
Before payment can be processed we require:
If yes - please send your P45 with your first timesheet to our Accounts Department, failure to do so may result in you being over taxed.
If no - please complete a form P46 and sign the declaration where applicable. Please send form P46 with your first timesheet to our Accounts Department, failure to do so may result in you being taxed incorrectly.
Cumulative - An employee's previous pay and tax figures in the tax year are taken into account to calculate the correct deductions. Any deductions or refunds will automatically be made throughout the year so a tax rebate will not be necessary.
Week One Basis - As previous pay or tax details are not taken into account, deductions are calculated as though it is the first week of the tax year. It is a temporary tax code and is used if we do not receive a P45. This is also known as emergency tax.
If you do not have a National Insurance number, you should contact your local office of the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP).
If you are exempt from National Insurance or pay a reduced rate, please attach the original copy of your card to your first timesheet. Your card will be kept by us all the time you are working through us and returned at the end of your contract with Fusion People.
If any deductions have already been made, upon receipt of an exemption certificate we will refund them provided deductions have been made in the current tax year.
