Job description

This organisation are looking for an Archaeologist to join their team in the North West on a Permanent basis.

Main Duties:

* Collating and reviewing existing archaeological information including ordering HER data and visiting archives and record offices

* Processing Historic Environment data in GIS

* Archaeological site walkovers

* Production of desk-based assessments, heritage impact assessments Environmental Statement chapters and other reports

* Developing recommendations for the mitigation of archaeological impacts

* Production of fieldwork briefs and specifications and other documents

* General administrative / management tasks relating to project quality, health and safety (including risk assessment), and bidding

* Supporting the production of tenders

You should match the following criteria:

* Relevant first degree

* Experience of working in archaeological consultancy and/or other heritage sector roles

* Knowledge of the Historic Environment

* Knowledge and experience of GIS

* Knowledge and experience of Heritage related legislation and planning policy

* Experience of producing Desk-based Assessments and Heritage Impact Assessments
