Job description

A Quantity Surveyor is required to join a Rail client in Swindon. Working as part of the delivery team, the successful candidate will support pre contract activity within the team’s scope of work and provide commercial advice and recommendation to minimise risks. You will provide post contract commercial management of medium value activity. The Quantity Surveyor's role interfaces with internal and external stakeholders and provides support to the Western Projects. You will be expected to provide commercial expertise and guidance to enable the route to achieve relevant targets. You will also be involved in the resolution of commercial issues.

Ideally located within commutable distance of Swindon, you will be commercially educated with a degree or equivalent. As a Quantity Surveyor you will have previous working knowledge in a similar role in either the rail, civil engineering or construction industry. Solid understanding of railway and construction industry and related supply chain contracts is essential. You will need to demonstrate effective negotiation skills with the ability to influence decision making. The client is looking for an ambitious individual; your desire to succeed will be paramount in this large and exciting organisation.
