Contracts Manager with Hi-rise Commercial / Residential experience in the Northwest

Fusion People are working with the Operations Director for the North West for this Tier One Building Contractor who is looking to bring on board a Contracts Manager with Hi-rise and Residential experience to be based in the M6 corridor, south of the M62 region.


This well-established Building Main Contractor has an enviable reputation throughout its offices in the UK and Europe. The Northwest and Yorkshire region will turnover in excess of £160m this year compared to £100m in 2015.

Traditionally my clients project portfolio consists of Design and Build schemes in the Education, Leisure and Healthcare sector however they have enquiries from repeat customers in the Hi-Rise and Residential markets and need to grow these divisions with new key personnel.


Reporting into the Operations Director for the North West, the Contracts Manager will be responsible for leading and motivating the delivery team and ensure its balance and shape to deliver workload profile. In addition you will have a full understanding of and manage the overall operational and commercial aspects of the projects to achieve the budget.

A key focus of the role will be both work winning and delivery so individuals with pre-construction and bid winning are sought after for this role.


  • Will have a proven track record of successful delivery of hi-rise and Resi Building projects with Main Contractors.
  • A track record of resolving technical, operational and contractual issues and / or disputes.
  • Have worked on a variety of £multi-million construction operations
  • Be able to read and accurately interpreting contract documents, programmes, drawings and technical specifications.
  • Have managed teams including the supply chain, direct employees and consultants.


  • Develop and monitor project strategies in order to achieve the company’s sustainability objectives.
  • Develop and monitor strategies to deliver a quality build in accordance with the requirements of the project.
  • Be part of the work winning and delivery process
  • Develop, nurture and manage client and supply chain relationships.
  • Develop and implement project strategy and delivery programme. Ensure effective communication and implementation to deliver the project on time. Challenge and interrogate reporting on progress and instigate corrective actions as required.
  • Recruit, reward, retain and develop the best people.
  • Manage project handover and ensure defect /snag free completion.


The client is paying from £65k - £70k + car or allowance, pension, healthcare, performance bonus and excellent scope to progress…
