One of Australia's longest standing and most respected Top Tier Contractors requires a Senior Estimator to head up their established and very experienced Bid Team. The company see’s NSW as one of its key focuses for the coming years and are investing significantly in the infrastructure of the business to take advantage of what they see as a very good opportunity to grow market share in the region. Part of this strategy requires the addition of an experienced Senior Estimator to sit over the existing team. The role has the scope to develop further over the coming 1 – 3 years as Sydney is the hub of the operation, this is a genuine career path not pie in the sky and my remit is to find someone who has the potential to continue to grow with the business.
You will be overseeing a team of less experienced estimators while providing bid strategy and accurate, competitive tenders for the organisation on all major tenders ranging from $30 Million to $100 Million plus and be given the opportunity to lead the tender strategy as appropriate in conjunction with the Business development , design and construction management teams.
The Company has already secured some major projects for 2016 and there are more to come online as the year progresses. Some recent successes have seen them secure some very high profile CBD high and medium rise projects, which is where they see the Sydney market (in particular) heading in the coming years, along with a number of high profile institutional and commercial build projects.
The company has been delivering iconic projects across every Australian city’s skylines for decades and they are a muti-disciplined leader in the market, delivering projects in the Commercial and Residential High Rise, Medical, Institutional, Industrial and Major sporting facilities spaces up to $150 Million in value. The successful candidate will have had previous exposure to estimating on major build projects in the Commercial build spaces (ideally a mix of diverse projects) starting at a minimum of $50 Million and beyond. You will need to be coming from a respected large Mid to Top Tier Contractor and have knowledge of the local market in NSW, further knowledge of Australian markets a bonus given the development to a national role. Having existing relationships with sub contractors in the more areas the better.
You will need to have 10 years plus experience and be able to show a history of longevity with former employers. As this job is long term appointment with a view to progressing you need to be able to demonstrate ambition along with loyalty to former employers on your CV.
