Job description

Our client, a market leading provider of cutting edge IT software to the insurance and financial markets are currently looking for an intelligent, highly motivated, professional to join its Business Development team as Senior Account Executive.

The successful applicant will already have a good knowledge of the key scientific tenets and statistics that underpin its probabilistic models as well as the software applications which access the models. You will work closely with clients and prospects to understand their business needs, with a view to creating and expanding those relationships and ultimately growing market share among the European markets.  

Main responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Improve market penetration among insurance brokers, insurers and reinsurers in the expanding business of catastrophe risk analytics 
  • Manage major client accounts to ensure retention and to identify new sales opportunities 
  • Work with qualified prospects to demonstrate how leading-edge products will meet their needs 
  • Work with a high-powered team of professionals to understand sophisticated risk-modelling techniques and to identify new marketing approaches 
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and yearly goals and objectives and track the company’s progress in achieving them 
  • Assist in developing marketing materials and presentations for clients and prospects that place insurance coverage

   Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience within business development, marketing or sales in the software, technology, or insurance industry
  • Ability to follow through the sales process from initiating to closing the sale 
  • Aptitude for working with complex software applications 
  • Excellent communication, presentation and demonstration skills
  • Self-motivated

Experience in the following areas:

  • Catastrophe Modelling software applications 
  • Underwriting or actuarial experience
  • P&C insurance industry knowledge


  • Proven track record in sales or solid potential 
  • Experience with client facing business development, sales, management consulting, finance, product management or marketing experience
  • BSc or BA degree in a quantitative field or comparable experience
  • Some travel required 
  • MBA or MSc in relevant field a plus
