A Bridge Examiner with Full STE04 capability is required to join a national rail consultancy. Ideally based near Luton, Bedford, Peterborough or Leeds, the successful candidate will have experience of working in the rail industry along with a good knowledge of railway practice. You will undertake the structural examination of bridges to identify actual and potential defects across the rail networks, resulting in informed decision making regarding quality, safety and environmental objectives. The role will also involve collection of data from site as well as carrying out Hidden Critical Element assessments.
With previous experience of working as a Bridge Examiner or Bridge Inspector you will have a good technical knowledge of bridge, rail and road maintenance works, as well as carrying out on-call duties as required. You will be able to demonstrate compliance with the STE4 competency for structures examinations and will be experienced in the preparation of examination reports using the ALARM database. If you hold a Confined Space ticket this would be advantageous. An ideal candidate will be educated to a degree/HNC level and have good IT skills including Microsoft Office. PTS certified, you must be fit and able to work on track. Provided with a van and fuel card, you will also hold a valid driving licence.
