Early Works Project Engineer - Piling 

Our client is a leading main contractor with an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis to work on a large station redevelopment. 

  •              The Project Engineer is responsible for all the technical and engineering aspects of the piling construction during the Early Works stage
  •              The Project Engineer supports and reports to the Early Works Construction Manager in all the elements related to constructability and supervision of the piling works.
  •              The Project Engineer supports and reports to the Design Manager in the design, the production and management of the engineering input during construction for all elements of the works and fulfil the self-certification and assurance of the Works as per the Main Contract.
  •              The role includes the development of an appropriate knowledge and compliance with the Construction Management Plan, other management plans and the relevant Works Information.

 

  •              Prepare sketches, presentation, calculations and research to support miscellaneous Engineering tasks
  •              Checks that adequate measures and controls are in place to provide evidence of self-assurance and confirms that the works are carried out in compliance with the design, ensuring all certificates, assurance and compliance certificates are generated and collated
  •              Work with designer(s) to determine stages of design at which constructability input is required, identify the tasks and manage a schedule for these tasks / workshops
  •              Record options reviews and constructability advice in a consistent and controlled manner, to ensure that safety and efficiency are optimised
  •              Prepare sketches for preferred sequences and methods
  •              Preparation and review of Method Statements and ITPs for all the activities related to the piling works
  •              Ensure all works are constructed efficiently, to the required quality and in accordance with the required contract programme, and are carried out safely with due regard to the protection of the workforce, public and the environment
  •              Track items that could require change control, for example opportunities to amend design to improve buildability or issues which are shown to be more complex than foreseen.  Draft change control notices.
  •              Assist in the preparation of minutes of meetings and technical reports as required
  •              Assist in the preparation and roll out of management plans as required
