My client are recruiting for a records manager for the office they have located in Leighton Buzzard. The ideal candidate must have a substantial experience in Record management. Records management, is the practice of maintaining the records of an organisation from the time they are created up to their eventual disposal. This may include classifying, storing, securing, and destruction (or in some cases, archival preservation) of records. A record can be either a tangible physical object or electronic / digital information: for example, office documents, drawings, databases, application data, and e-mail. Records management is primarily concerned with the evidence of an organisation's activities, and is usually applied according to the value of the records rather than their physical format.
Planning the information needs of an organisation.
Identifying information requiring capture.
Creating, approving, and enforcing policies and practices regarding records, including their use, management and disposal.
Developing a records storage plan, which includes the short and long-term housing of physical records and digital information.
Identifying, classifying, and storing records.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Establishment and administration of a records management service compliant with both professional standards and to meet the needs of information management aspects of relevant legislation.
- Ensure that all corporate records are stored in a manner that complies with all applicable laws and industry regulations. This includes making certain that the storage of these records is such that the information contained therein is highly secure and readily accessible to authorized persons.
- Using their excellent records-keeping expertise and organizational skills to develop standards and procedures for records maintenance across the organization.
