Job description

Our client is a leading main contractor working in Joint venture to deliver the design and construction works for Euston Station. They have an exciting opportunity for a I&M Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.


The general roles and responsibilities of the Instrumentation & Monitoring Engineer include but are not limited to the following:


Co-ordinate with designers to ensure successful completion of the Instrumentation and Monitoring design is sufficient to assure HS2 and key Stakeholders.

Ensure the monitoring design is developed to programme to facilitate agreed baselines.

Liaise with the consents team to provide information relating to the monitoring design and Defect Surveys.

Maintain and co-ordinate design documentation safety, programme, cost, environmental and community risks involved with Instrumentation and Monitoring and survey works.

Ensure the I&M and Survey works are carried out in accordance with the design.

Ensure that all data acquisition by the Monitoring Subcontractor is processed, verified and analysed correctly.

Prepare/review Action Plans and Specific Action Plans.

Ensure that all requirements in the Action Plans and Specific Action Plans are implemented by the Monitoring Subcontractor.

Review and interpret daily results and changes in monitoring system.

Interpret monitoring data and review against damage assessments and predictions.

Present Monitoring data at review meetings.

Raise non-conformances taking immediate corrective action whenever possible.

The preparation of I&M and survey reports as required.

Review Method Statements and procedures for site based activities.

Co-ordinate Defect Survey Subcontractors works regarding access, documentation and programme.

Review Defect Survey reports and submit to the Client.

Assist with preparation and procurement of sub-contractors as required for packages of work, i.e. inspections, structural mitigations or other works that may arise.

Inspect or co-ordinate inspections to assets during zone of influence of tunnelling activities and report to review meetings.

Liaise with Subcontractors, Designers and HS2 to co-ordinate design of Structural Mitigation.

Liaise with construction team, Subcontractors and HS2 for the successful implementation of the Structural Mitigation and feedback to review meetings.

Assist with all close out works for decommissioning of the I&M, Defect Surveys, Inspections and Structural Mitigations including preparing/reviewing documentation, planning, liaising with, Subcontractors, HS2 and Stakeholders.
