Job description
A leading National Retirement Living Builder are looking to recruit a Land Appraisal Estimator to work from their Kettering office. 

The Estimating team are mainly involved with the pricing of schemes but also undertake other work including:
Cost planning to support land evaluation
Preparation of tender budgets
Inputting to value engineering (VE) exercises
Checking costs on major variations

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To take the lead in preparing the pricing element of schemes and to assist other development managers in early assessment of scheme viability.
KEY OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE:
With the Construction Director, developing the build strategy and programme
Assemble accurate, timely and well-organized estimates
Organize sub-contractor quotes and assisting the buy-out process
Contribute to risk assessment and ensuring all risks are included within the scheme pricing
Leading or supporting VE exercises
Assuring accuracy, competitiveness and compliance of scheme pricing
Ensuring all risks are recorded and accounted for within the scheme pricing
Supporting the Development Manager in all stages of the development
Monitor scheme progress noting challenges and relationships with sub-trades for future schemes
Maintain databases, including labour rates, material pricing, and project costs, for future reference

The Company: 
One of the largest and leading retirement living provider in the UK. They have offices Nationwide and have won many awards for their developments and pride themselves 
on their quality of build. 

The Person: 
You will have worked an Estimator and have a commercial or operational background experienced in residential building contracts. 
A first degree or professional qualification is preferable. At least 5 years’ experience as an estimator or cost planner is necessary. 
Ideally the experience should have been gained in the Building Sector.
Ideally, the experience should be in the retirement living apartment construction sector
The job holder must possess a full UK Driving Licence and an appropriate CSCS card
