Job description
Job Title: Finance Administrator
Responsible To: Line Manager – Finance Director
Responsible For: Accounts Assistant

 

Purpose of Job
The Finance Administrator is responsible for the maintenance and administration of the business’ financial records and systems
Key Objectives
  • To maintain the integrity of the finance system
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are carried out with accuracy and security within the prescribed timescales
  • To provide general administrative support to the Financial Controller
Detailed Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Ensure the following elements of the companies finance system is well maintained, reconciled and up to date
    • Bank accounts
    • Supplier ledger
    • Customer Ledger
    • CIS records & submissions
  • File & maintain all electronic copies of ledger invoices
  • Administer payments of suppliers & staff expense claims
  • Ensure banking uploads are completed on time and ready for authorisation
  • Preparation and administration of sub-contractor and operative monthly payments
  • VAT return preperation
  • Ensure all weekly & monthly deadlines are maintained
  • Work with the Commercial Team to optimise & administer credit control / debt collection
  • Contribute to and attend meetings / conference calls with colleagues, clients and subcontractors as required
  • Maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders within the business
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with staff, stakeholders and third parties
  • To undertake other duties as required by the Directors from time to time
Competence Requirements
  • Proficient in the use of Xero & Microsoft Office suite
  • High level of numeracy
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
  • Good communications skill at all levels
  • A commitment to working collaboratively with other areas of the business to deliver organisational goals
  • Strong commitment to delivering high standards to both the business and it’s clients
