Fabric Engineer

Bristol and Gloucester 
£24,000-£27,000k

We have an excellent opportunity for a motivated Fabric Engineer to join a busy project team in Innsworth, covering sites around the area (Bristol and Gloucester)



You will be responsible for undertaking pre-planned, preventative and reactive emergency and routine maintenance repairs to a variety of building fabric services on MOD buildings, providing a customer focused and cost effective service.  



Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Undertake fault finding, investigation and reactive repairs to a varierty of different types of building fabric services and building types. Requirements include (but are not limited to) wall surface repairs, decorating, replacing door furniture, lock replacements, floor repairs, basic carpentry, roof repairs, gutter cleaning, basic plumbing, concrete slab and paving repairs, brickwork and mortar repairs.
  • Carry out planned maintenance activities on a variety of MOD Establishments
  • Manage a schedule of work and ensure all associated administration duties are completed and submitted in a timely manner
  • Review and contribute to Risk Assessments and Method Statements to ensure they are to an acceptable standard and ensure compliance at all times
  • Work from drawings and specifications and other documentation without the need for direct supervision
  • Notify management of any defects on equipment or systems
  •  

You must have a proven working background as a fabric engineer or similar (FM operative, maintenance operative etc) working within the construction, building services etc. environment (commercial and industrial)  

Training and qualifications required:

Trade background and qualifications (recognised qualification or apprenticeship)

Extensive knowledge in building fabric services

Good standards of numeracy and literacy with basic IT Skills

A full UK Driving Licence as travel to sites is required

Ability to obtain and maintain basic and SC Security clearance
