Based at a large site in East Sussex you will help deliver an exciting mix of capital and revenue projects each year.
You will carry out building surveys, develop designs and specifications and provide project delivery services and professional advice on property and construction, for a range of building types (residential, academic, sports, infrastructure etc.) both on and off campus.
You will determine the condition of existing buildings, identify and analyse defects, including proposals for repair. Prepare scheme designs with costings, programmes for completion of projects and specification of works. Organising documents for tender and advising on appointing contractors, designers and procurement routes.
You will advise on energy efficiency, environmental impact and sustainable construction, instructing on the preservation/conservation of historic buildings.
You will deal with planning applications and advise on property legislation and building regulations.
Assessing and designing buildings to meet the needs of people with disabilities.
Instructing on construction design and management regulations and negotiate dilapidations (when there is a legal liability for a property's state of disrepair);
Degree (or equivalent) in appropriate construction related subject
Chartered Surveyor with RICS (consideration to CIOB etc. with relevant experience);
Relevant qualification for historic buildings/building conservation (desirable);
Qualified Building Surveyor or associated relevant discipline;
Appropriate CSCS Card
