Fusion People get involved in major Manchester based TV project

Several of Manchester’s major contractors and Manchester City Council are joining forces to help support Nick Knowles and his DIY SOS team in an ambitious project in renovating eight run down homes on Canada Street in Newton Heath.

Ex-service workers account for a large proportion of the homeless in the UK. 1 in 10 rough sleepers are ex-military and currently there are over 635,000 empty properties across England alone.

The scheme will create four homes for veterans and their families, as well as a ‘Walking with the Wounded’ advice and therapy centre. Not only this, but a further 62 properties will get a ‘makeover’ as well as improvements to the street-scaping to provide a neighbourhood worthy to home our proud veteran and the wider community.

Due to the enormous task at hand and the extensive support that will be needed, Fusion people have volunteered their time to help attract both skilled labourers and managers who have the skills to contribute to this scheme. It begins immediately until the end of September.

If you are interested in taking part by volunteering your time and expertise or if you know anyone else that would be, then please contact Chris or Carl in our Manchester office.
