Sustaining an eco-friendly planet by building structures that protect the environment is crucial for the construction and engineering industry and we are proud to be part of an industry where our work can make a real difference.
These UK based projects have been built to protect and maintain sustainability and reduce any potential risks to the environment.
1) The Thameslink Programme, Network Rail – London Bridge station redevelopment project
The five-year London Bridge redevelopment project, that cost the government £1bn, challenged sustainability with 98% of landfill site waste diverted. Delivery drivers were economically trained, using 20% less diesel and site offices were changed to green electricity tariffs and given smart meters, saving 742 tonnes of C02e.
2) Verto Homes – Island Reach
All homes across the Island Reach contain EPC A-rated insulation, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery systems, air-source heat pumps and solar PV panels. Recyclable timber frames are featured while ecoLED lighting, automated climate systems and electric vehicle charging points are also positioned within the development.
3) Multiplex Construction Europe – White Collar Factory
A mixed-use development comprising of a 16 storey tower and low-rise buildings, the White Collar Factory reduced damaging carbon emissions by 30% and incorporated 539 sqm of new habitat through green roofs and bat and bird boxes.
